Show Dixie College Hews The final assembly of the college year will be held next Thursday. It will consist of numbers by members of the college graduating class. Mr. Ashby and Hamblin Bracken gave an illustrated lecture lec-ture to the salesmanship class at Hurricane Tuesday. The Kane county students attending at-tending college were given a party by Mr. Ashby at his home Thursday. Mr. Ashby attended the state high school -track meet at Salt Lake Saturday. Jay Huntsman has returned home from Provo, where he underwent an operation for appendicitis. ap-pendicitis. The driving class, held a party on the red hill Monday night as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cottam. The junior students of Mr. Bleak will give a recital in the band room Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. Jane Pace was elected president of the Art Guild for next year. Norman Atkin was named vice-president vice-president and Schuyler Gardner secretary-treasurer. The students of the biology department, de-partment, under the .leadership of Ross Hardy, enjoyed a week end trip to Pine Valley last week. A study of the plants and animals of that region was made. Appointive student body officers for 1940-41 were made last week by the new student council. D. C. Watson was named yearbook editor; Paul Crosby, debate manager; man-ager; LoRaine McArthur, commissioner commis-sioner of finance and Schuyler Gardner, publicity manager. |
