Show Wards Hold Special Mother's Day Programs Sunday ps Special Mother's Day programs were held in each of the three local wards Sunday, during the regular Sunday school period. In each of the wards Mothers were honored with corsages, and tributes tri-butes in songs, readings, music, and addresses. The south ward reported attendance at-tendance of 141 mothers, including includ-ing the eldest mother, Manomas Lavinia Andrus, aged 98. Among others especially honored were three who are mothers of 11 living children. These were Mrs. David Moss. Mrs. Effie Prisbrey Hall and Mrs. John T. Neilson. There were two mothers present over 80 years of age and eight over 75 years of age; two, Nettie M. Nelson and Artie L. Snyder, mothers of ten living children, and Mrs. George Brooks and Mrs. Joseph Blake mothers of nine. Interesting highlights of the east ward program included numbers num-bers from each department, with an original tribute in verse from the parents class given by Levi N. Harmon, and response by Mrs. Merrill Stucki. There were nearly 150 mothers and grandmothers present who were honored. West Ward The west ward reports honor paid to 145 mothers, with special carnation corsages presented to the eldest great grandmother, Mrs. George W. Worthen, to the eWeTrandrnohnot a great-grandmother, Mrs. Mae Whipple, and to the eldest mother, who is not a grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Clair Morris. Each department was represented in the program. |
