Show Dixie Team To ! Tackle B.A.C. In j Last Game Of Year Dixie's Poor Season Will Be Accepted as Success If Team Topples B.A.C. In Final Game Today Dixie's bearded beauties of the gridiron line up today for the last game of football season with their traditional rivals, the Branch Aggies of Cedar, in the Dixie "Dust Bowl" before an Armistice Day crowd. The game promises to be close and hard fought as a glance at the record of athletic contests between the two schools shows that Dixie athletes always fight their hardest against the B.A.C. Today will be the last game in a Dixie college uniform for Capt. Marvel Leavitt, Russel Smith, Donald Don-ald (Pete) Frei, Dean Gardner, Irvin McArthur, Donald Schmutz, Clell Covington, Abner DeMille, and Marion Hinton. These boys are expected to put forth everything to wind up the season with a win. Both teams have had an unsatisfactory un-satisfactory year as far as winning games is concerned, the B.A.C. having lost to Las Vegas 19 to 0, to Weber college 25 to 0, and to Westminister 25 to 12. Dixie lost to Las Vegas 20 to 0, to Weber 18 to 0, to Westminister 45 to 2 at Salt Lake City, and to the B.A.C. at Cedar City 12 to 6. Thursday's game will give the Dixie team an opportunity to even up the season's games if a victory is forthcoming. A large delegation of Cedar City fans will be here to support the Aggies. j The Dixie football players offer no abilis and have taken their losses philosophically, even though injuries have removed such players as Arvil Shamp, Leonard (Dusty) Cook and Merlin Milne. Rowel Leavitt, star guard, was operated on for appendicitis early in the season. |
