Show ARMISTICE DAY PROCLAMATION The American people, in whose minds is still fresh the memory of the world's greatest and most horrible conflict, the world war, have set aside one day of each yner, November 11, on which to honor those heroes he-roes who bled and died on the fields of France, those heroes who returned to their homes maimed in body ami mind, those who escaped physical injury and returned return-ed to take up their part in our national life, and nlso to rejoice in commemoration commem-oration of the anniversary of the signing of the armistice. ar-mistice. It is fitting that one day each year be set aside to renew our patriotism and the love of country in our hearts. It is well that we pause for a moment to recall re-call the suffering endured by the manhood of the world that their aim might bo accomplished protecting their homes and the lives of loved ones. Therefore, I, Henry T. Atkin, mayor of St. George City, do proclaim Wednesday, Wednes-day, November 11, a holiday holi-day and respectfully ask that all citizens join in the spirit of the day and assist the American Legion and Auxiliary Aux-iliary in every way possible in their celebration of that memorable event in our national na-tional life the signing of the armistice that ended the war.
