Miles Winners An unprecedented heavy vote marked the local election Tuesday Tues-day tor the naming of city officers offi-cers In the East precinct 43 3 visited the polls, while in the west 34S voted a total of 7S1. i .--i: i Wcht until noon. At that time on the east side only 100 had voted, while on the Tret only half that number had ca3t a'VOte. A total of 7S0 votes ffere cast for mayor, John T. Woodbury, Jr., receiving 4S1 and Mayor H. T. Atkin 299. Jos. W. Judd won over Wm. Brooks for long term council-I council-I man, by a vote of- 451 to 326. J For Short term councilmen, ! Jos. W. Prince, with 411 votes, W. B. Mathis, with 40 3, and Mrs. Vivien Woodbury, with 39 5, were elected. George E. Miles received 485 votes for recorder, against 290 for O. S. Taylor. Mrs. Laura A. Gates, with 508 votes, was reelected treasurer over Mrs. Alice Milne, who had 266. Mrs. Gates received the highest vote of any candidate on either ticket.
