Show FIRST SNOWFALL HITS ST. GEORGE St. George was treated to its first snow of the winter last Monday afternoon, after-noon, when after a drizzling rain snow began falling and continued heavy for about an hour. The snow melted nearly as fast as it fell in the valley but on the mountains the white blanket blan-ket remained for a longer period of time. A cold spell will be welcomed by the fruit growers as it was feared the warm weather of the past two weeks would bring out the buds and advance the growth to such a stage that frost would ruin the prospects for a good fruit crop this year. The outlook at present is better than for many years, due to the assurance of a plentiful plen-tiful supply of water. |
