Show DIXIE WINS HARD GAME FROM B.A.C. In a game full of thrills from start to finish Lee Hafen's Dixie College basketball team nosed out B. A. C. j Saturday night by a 1 point margin. The final score was 25 to 24. Dixie was beaten the night before by the same team and after trailing B. A. C. for three quarters of the game Saturday Satur-day showed their full strength and by unerring basket shooting won from the Branch team. Dixie scored first, making two baskets bas-kets in succession, while B. A. C. made two points on foul pitches. B. A. C. then found the basket twice, Dixie made two points, while B. A. C. chalk -e dup five points on field goals and one free throw. The score at the end of the first quarter was 11 to 6 in favor of B. A. C. Adams went in for McArthur at the Dixie chalked up three points in the second quarter on one basket and one free throw. B. A. C. counted four points on two baskets, making the score 9 to 15 in favor of B. A. C. at the end of the half. Dixie scored eight points in the third quarter to four made by B. A. C. The Dixie boys were finding the basket with regularity and some long shots were being made. The score was 19 to 17 in favor of B. A. C. at the end of the third quarter. Dixie made two at the beginning of the last quarter, and the score was tied at 19. Fouls were called on both sides but neither tallied. B. A. C. mde two points. The fourth foul was called on Olsen of B. A. C. and he was put out of the game, Sanders taking tak-ing his place. Dixie made two points, B. A. C. one,, and Dixie got two long baskets in rapid succession, the score being 25' to 22 in favor of Dixie. B. A. C. got a basket as the game ended, the final score being Dixie 25 B. A. C. 24. .The lineup: Dixie Frei and Empey, forwards; Empey, McArthur, center; Church Blake, Taylor and Adams, guards. B. A? C. Yardley, Gillins, forwards; Young, center; Olsen, Sanders, Eyoe, guards. While the score in the game Friday night was not so close, the contest was very exciting and the winning scores were made by B. A. C. in the last few minutes of play. B. A. C. got one point on a foul, for the first tally, Empey shot a basket. Dixie counted one on a foul. B. A. C. shot a basket followed by a goal by Frei. Score at end of quarter, Dixie 5, B. A. C. 3. Both teams were guarding guard-ing closely and each was having difficulty diffi-culty in working the ball within shooting shoot-ing range of the basket. B. A. C. got two baskets at the start of the second quarter making the score 7 to 5 in their favor. Free throws, two each, by Empey and Frei, run the score to 11 to 10 in favor of Dixie at the end of the half. B. A. C. scored two baskets in rapid succession at the beginning of the half McArthur went in for. McGregor. Empey shot a basket, followed by another an-other by B. A. C. Church went in for Taylor. Frei made a long shot from the center of the court. Score at end of third quarter, Dixie 15. B. A. C. 16. McGregor returned to the game in the last quarter.
