Show ACHIEVEMENT j TESTS SHOW I SCHOOL GROWTH ! ! The growth of the schools in 1 Washington county, as measured ; by standard achievement tests is ' as follows: Form A of the Williams reading test given in October, 1930, show-j show-j ed the following medians for the county: Second grade, 6: third, 17.5; fourth, 8; fifth. 17; sixth, 22.5; seventh, 26; eighth, 31.5; ninth, 35.7. 'Primary reading was given "n second and third grades. Form B of Williams' reading test given in April, 1931, showed show-ed the following medians: Second grade, 25; third, 35; fourth, 21; fifth, 25; sixth, 28; seventh, 33; eighth, 41; ninth, 38. Form A of Guy spelling scale given in October, 1930, showed the following medians: Second grade, .5; third, 3; fourth, 8.5; fifth, 15; sixth, 21; seventh, sev-enth, 28; eighth, 31; ninth, 33. Form B of Guy spelling scale given in April, 1931, showed the following: Second, 5; third, 11; fourth, 15; fifth, 22; sixth, 28; seventh, 32; eighth, 35, and ninth, 36. Form A of Buckingham scale in Arithmetic, given in October, 1930, shews the following: Third grade, 32; fourth, 36; filth, 45; sixth, 52; seventh, 65; eighth, 69. Form B of Buckingham scale in arithmetic given in April, 1931, shews the following: Third grade, 36; fourth, 42; fifth 56; sixth, 64; seventh, 73, and eighth, 77. |
