Show MAY MAKE TEST RUN TOJNGMAN Will Use Read via Pearce Ferry in Economy and Time Trial. A copy of a letter written by C. H. Bigelow, secretary of the Arrowhead Trails association, to Judge LeRoy V. Root, secretary of the Kingman Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, regarding a time and economy econ-omy run between the two cities, has been received by the Washington Wash-ington County News. It follows: "Under date of February 12 the Washington County News reported that Supervisor J. A. Tatum of Mohave county, had driven over the road from Kingman to St. George via: Pearce ferry, in eight hours, and that Mr. Ta turn's car consumed but 10 gallons of gas on the trip. I have been informed that an unnamed contributor to the Mohave Mo-have County Miner questionedjxitb. the time and the consumption of gas by tire car driven by Mr. Tatum. According to my informants, individuals in-dividuals in Kingman have ex pressed the desire to wager a lew hundred dollars that this drive cannot be made in eight hours and that more than ten gallons of gas would be required. I desire that you secure publicity cf the following, fol-lowing, either through the columns col-umns of your newspaper, by word of mouth, or in any other fashion fash-ion you may see fit. I am prepared to post a certified cer-tified check from $100 up that I can drive from Kingman to St. George, or St. George to Kingman, King-man, in less than eight hours. Further, I will post certified check from $100 up that I can make the trip each way on less than ten gallons of gas. I am ready to work out articles governing a run of this kind, starting dates, stakeholder, stake-holder, timers, etc., at any time within the next two weeks. I am ready to back my opinion and I hope that the gentlemen who questioned Mr. Tatum's statement state-ment have sufficient sporting blood to back their judgment. |
