Show AGED PIONEER DIES IN WYOMING Mrs. Olevia Lemimon, 80, an early pioneer of Dixie and the last of the Mormon pioneers who resided re-sided in the Big Horn basin, died at Lovell, Wyo., on April 19. Mrs. Lemmon was born in Denmark Den-mark May 30, 1851, and when six years of age left her native country coun-try with her parents and came to America, arriving with the handcart hand-cart company in Salt Lake valley in 1857. V Early in her life she came to the Dixie mission, and in 1866 was Married to James Abbott Lemmon. Lem-mon. He died in 1882, and she was married in 1884 to Guss Durfee. A good deal of her life was spent in caring for the sick and needy. She spent rriuch time in voluntary service for which she never accepted ac-cepted recompense. She had always been very industrious, indus-trious, and in the 1930 fair at Lovell took third prize for garden gar-den raising. Surviving are the following children: chil-dren: Mrs. E. R. Thaxton, Mrs. E. W. Allred, Mrs. C. Workman, and Mrs. J. a. Fames, Charles A. Durfee Dur-fee and Mrs. T. S. Nicholls, all of Lovell. In addition to the children chil-dren she leaves 61 grand children and 61 great grand children. |
