Show Maeser j Eloise Alien Parker I Phone 789-2178 J Grandmothers receive gift on Mother's Day Two mothers in the valley received a special Mother's Day gift. Dawn Porter of Maeser and Lou Jean Perry became grandmothers of a 7 pound granddaughter, the proud parents are Gordon and Chris (Porter) Perry. Grandfathers are Gordon Perry and Rodney Porter. David and Ann H. Allen have a new son, born May 5 he weighed 8 lbs. V4 oz. and will be named Casey Ray. Grandparents are Howard and Marilyn Allen and Cloyd and Marge Hughes. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Schofield and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Allen. This is the 29th great grandchild for the Aliens. Wynn and Alys Mansfield have a new daughter born April 28 weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. and will be named Megan. Alys' mother, Mrs. Helen Denny, from Orange, Calif., has been here helping in the home. Paternal grandparents are Pudge and Beverly Merkley. Great grandparents are Tess Siddoway and Carrie Merkely. Mrs. Carron Trogstad had surgery last Wednesday at the Ashley Valley Medical Center. She will be released soon. She would like to thank everyone who has come by their home to help out.' Wallace Caldwell spent several days recently in the Ashley Valley Medical Center with pneumonia. He is back at his home now and doing well. Don Hedricks, a former resident of Vernal was in an automobile accident recently near Provo. The accident left him paralyzed. The last report we have had is that he was moving to Seattle, Wash., to live with his brother and take physical therapy at a hospital there. Florence and Howard Williams spent Mother's Day in Roosevelt at the home of Joy and Jim Brown. Jane and David Boyce were also guests. Florence's son, Kenneth, called to wish her Happy Mother's Day. Rebecca Parker was home from Logan to spend Mother's Day with her mother, Elouise Parker and grandmother, Nellie Allen. She also visited her grandfather, Marion Allen at the local hospital. New residents in Maeser are Brad and Dabria Anderson. They are living up in the half-mile lane. Robert and Dianne Yancy and family have been transferred to Albuquerque, N.M., where Yancy will be working with Smith Food Store. Elaine Jenkins Roberts took over the Yancy Pre-School and Nursery and plans to have it in her home this fall. Shannon Bullock had surgery at the LDS Hospital last week. She was on the critical list for 2 or 3 days but she has stabilized now and is doing much better. Shayn Bullock was awarded a scholarship in auto mechanics and petroleum engineering from the Uintah Basin Area Vocational Center. He also received the Governor's Scholarship. |
