Show Nominations sought for 1982 Mother of the Year contest Search for" the Utah Mother of the Year for 1982 is now open and the deadline for nominations will be Feb. 1, according to Dorothy P. O'Neil, chairman of the Utah Mothers Association for Uintah, daggett and Duchesne Counties. Applicants may be nominated by their children and or a club or organization. The candidate should be 45 years of age or older, with her youngest child 15 or over. She should be a successful mother and homemaker, be active member of a religious body and participate in community affairs. She should embody characteristics highly regarded in mothers and must have been married in a legal ceremony. Mrs. O'Neil said that since the nomination forms require time and effort to compile, organizations or groups are urged to send for the forms early. According to past nominees, the portfolios prepared have been truly appreciated, especially the reports by their children. Utah Mothers Association is an affiliate af-filiate of the American Mothers, Inc., and the winning state mother will compete at the national conference in Salt Lake City at the end of the April for the honor of becoming American Mother of 1982.
