In addition ad-dition $960,655 will be given in funds to supplement teacher salaries programmed over the next four years. In the housing area DG&T has found it necessary to provide single family residences, mobile homes for rentals, mobile home lots, recreational vehicle spaces, and bachelor quarters and dining facilities for its personnel coming into the area. An agreement has been made with Clark Construction Co. of Vernal to construct ten single family dwellings in Vernal. One home has been purchased to rent to an employee. The construction con-struction costs for single family homes will be $681,265. Twenty-five used mobile home units have been moved to Vernal from Wheatland, Wyo., a former power project town, for a total cost of $487,579 including all set-up costs. DG&T has purchased seven new mobile homes and is planning for 20 more for a cost of $634,172. A contract has been negotiated with Esquire Estates for an occupancy guarantee on 60 mobile home spaces at a cost of $48,000 during the project. Also 27 mobile home lots plus space for bachelor facilities in Jensen has been contracted to Gerald Clark at an estimated cost of $18,000. Gerald Clark has also been contracted con-tracted for 101 recreational vehicle spaces in Jensen for contractor employees em-ployees at a cost of $54,000. As a part of the mobile home complex in Jensen, DG&T will place bachelor facilities and dining-recreation facilities on 20 lots at a cost of $72,000 during the project. Universal Services, Inc., Seattle, has been approved as caterer, housekeeper and management service for the bachelor facilities. The subsidy for this operation is expected to cost $40,000. In the water and sewer program DG&T will assist the Jensen Water District with $100,400 because many of its personnel projects are in the Jensen area. Vernal City will get $358,400 for water grant money and $184,800 for sewer assistance. Ashley Valley Water and Sewer Improvement District has been programmed for $322,400 for water system improvements and $167,200 for sewer line and lagoon construction. Maeser Water District is programmed for $68,800 for water system improvemerit and $48,000 for sewer line and lagoon construction. For extra law enforcement needs because of the addition of construction employees and their families DG&T has entered an agreement with Vernal City for a grant of $112,250 to assist in equipment and personnel costs over the construction period. An agreement has been entered with Uintah County for $76,295 for assistance with equipment and personnel costs in law enforcement over the construction period of the plant. In the area of social problems, DG&T has provided a grant to pay wage costs of an additional social case worker for the Vernal Office of Utah Department of Social Services. The Tour -year grant will total $87,469. For parks and recreation Uintah County will receive a grant for $100,000 for acquisition of additional recreation facilities and help with salaries for recreation personnel. Vernal City will receive $120,000 for a grant for facilities and salaries for recreation to enhance . recreation opportunities during the project construction period. DG&T has also contracted with Uintah County to assist in the construction con-struction of a county highway between Vernal and Bonanza. A $4 million grant has been made and a guarantee of another $4 million has been made if needed to complete the project. The second $4 million would be credited as prepaid ad-valorem taxes. If other communities receive impact from the power plant project they will be considered on an individual basis and monies will be earmarked for this purpose as indicated by studies made by specialists, the report concluded. |
