ANSWER: No. They apply only to checkups specifically designed to uncover un-cover early cancer, and do not refer to -. examinations for the detection of other diseases. Furthermore, the guidelines apply only to people without symptoms, since the society emphasizes that anyone with symptoms or signs suggestive sug-gestive of cancer should talk to their doctor at once. FOOTNOTE: The successful colorectal colorec-tal cancer screening conducted by ACS and Utah Pharmaceutical Association drugstores will repeat itself beginning April 15. You may remember that this free test led to the discovery of the cancer in a Vernal woman who was quickly treated. Watch for red and white colorectal screening signs in our local drugstores.
