Show Uintah Utes place in BYU track invitational Three Uintah Utes, Dave Emery, Pennie Murray and Jerry Allred, captured honors in the Brigham Young University 3-A-4-A Invitational in Provo. Emery nabbed second place in the javelin with a toss of 190'6", Saturday and Mike Colyer of Mountain View pocketed first place at 19r2'i". Kevin Bodily of Woods Cross placed third at 189'1". Allred posted a time of 4.29 in 1600 meters, which broke his all time record of 4:31. However, Allred also placed seventh in the event. Dave Rcchert of , South captured first place in the 1600 meter run at 4:20.72 and Jace Brewer, Hillcrest, placed second at 4:22.06. Robert Brynes, Orem, earned third place with a time of 4:23.53. Murray garnered fourth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.61 in the girls' BYU Invitational, Friday. Murray's time of 2:24.61 has qualified her for the 3-A state tournament. Union High School's Tim Rasmusscn captured first place in the BOO meter run with a time of 2:01,34, which set a new 2-A state record. Phil Olson, Lehi, placed second and Boyd Prince, Hurricane, netted third place. The Cougars' Greg Mower pocketed second place in the 110 meter hurdles and Souths John Weaver placed first at 15.24. Gregg Driggs, Emery, nabbed third place in the event. Union's medley relay team nabbed third place. Union garnered ninth place in the BYU 2-A Invitational with 24 points.
