Show UVH blood bank to draw blood July 17 The Utah Valley Hospital Blood Bank, which supplies blood to the Uintah County Hospital, will be drawing blood Thursday, July 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday, July 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the old part of the county hospital. Requirements for donating the blood are : between 18 and 65 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health and not under the care of a doctor, and allow eight weeks to elapse between donations. Persons may be temporarily deferred for colds, flu, recent medication or cold sores, a tooth extraction ex-traction within 72 hours, and pregnancy or major surgery within the last six moiiUis. According to Tina Newberry, lab technician at the hospital, the requirements are more strict than for other blood donations in order to meet the American Association of Blood Banks' requirements. With each unit of blood donated, a credit is built up for that person to assure himself or others of a supply of blood. 4AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, |
