Show Lutheran Church Bible School On July 23, 1980, Our Saviour Lutheran Church will open its doors to children of the community with the new God's Happy People Vacation Bible School. "We want the children to have fun with crafts and projects, and games and songs," stated Rev. David L. Bahn, pastor of Our Saviour. "Most of all, we want to share the good news of God's love with our church and neighborhood children." The new God's Happy People materials, published by Concordia of St. Louis, Mo., include games, puzzles, songs, Bible stories, and take-home projects as part of each day's activities for youngsters from nursery age through 6th grade. Cost of the program in underwritten by the church. "Vacation Bible School is the single most important and most effective way for our church to reach kids and their moms and dads," VBS superintendent Donna Roberts told us. .That's why we are offering the Bible-based and Gospel-centered God's Happy People. Built around the theme of happiness Christians have in their lives, each Vacation Bible student's workbook contains picture Bible stories, puzzles, and songs of sharing. Plus children share a "buddy-pak" of take-home project crafts that reinforce the stories. Over 35 children enrolled for Our Saviour Lutheran Church's VBS program last summer. Pastor Bahn says they want to double that enrollment this year. This year's Vacation Bible School will run from July 23 to August 20 each Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Refreshments will be served, and babysitting baby-sitting is available. All sessions will be held at Our Saviour Lutheran Church located at 4th South and 5th West here in Vernal. Anyone interested in enrolling their children in Our Saviour's Church's free Vacation Bible School or in wanting additional information, should phone Mrs. Roberts at 789-0020. |
