XfJUlTt L.,.---J Teresa Posey, Chairman of this year's Girl Scout Fund Drive and her co-chairman Edna Powell will begin the drive October 4 and continue through October 16. An organizational meeting for the Fund Drive workers will be held Friday at the First Western National Bank at 7 p.m. Girl Scout Fund Drive Underway in Moab Area Girl Scout Fund Drive in the Moab area will be conducted from Oct. 4 through the 16th with Teresa Posey and Edna Powell as co-chairmen. Every penny of your dollar donated to Utah Girl Scouts goes back to the troops in services, in equipment, in training, in information and educational material. 51c of your dollar goes for organization of new troops, providing ideas for and help with community service projects, pro-jects, financial assistance for girls to attend national and international opportunities and to send more than 140 girls to established camps, publishes and mails ..the Trooper and other information to keep Council members and friends informed, locating troop meeting places, sponsors spon-sors and consultants. (Not all towns are fortunate enough to have their own Scout House as does Moab.) 15c of your dollar goes for adult education training for leaders, films, records, slides, books, manuals and audio visual materials for troop use, and training vans to outlying areas (Moab had the use of the van and trainers for 2 days last week). 26c of your dollar goes for maintaining buildings, sites and camp vehicles, special interest equipment (pool, horses, hor-ses, canoes) insurance coverage cover-age and medical care rental or leasing of property, trained volunteers and materials for Day, Troop and Core Camping. Camp-ing. Special areas receives 8 cents for help in the organization organiza-tion and recruitment of troops in hard-to-reach areas (in our District 7 area this would mean Montezuma Creek, Bluff, Lake Powell area at Bullfrog), services to handicapped girls, day camping for the underprivileged, under-privileged, sponsoring conferences confer-ences to provide help for community groups with special spec-ial needs. There are many more items that could be listed but these are a few you can relate to here in our own area. Your contribution to the Girl Scouts today means a better FUTURE for the Women of Tomorrow! All contributions are tax deductible and any contribution contribu-tion over $10 will enroll you as a Sustaining Member of the Girl Scouts and you will receive an SME Membership card, and all editions of "The Trooper," published 6 times a year which keeps you informed throughout the year of activities activi-ties within the Utah Girl Scout Council.
