Show Utah teachers planning UE A meet The Utah School Employees Association members from throughout the state will converge on Cottonwood High School's campus, Oct. 6 and 7 for their annual convention. The two-day conference, open to all classified employeescustodians, employ-eescustodians, maintenance personnel, bus drivers, food service employees, secretaries, secretar-ies, and teacher aides will feature two days of general sessions, workshops, clinics and exhibits. There is no registration fee and the public is invited. Highlighting special sessions ses-sions will be nationally-known speaker. Dr. Royal Garff and Ms. Doris Taggart, a well-known well-known Utah speaker. Specific workshops and demonstrations de-monstrations are scheduled for both days for each of the special work assignments. Fast becoming one of the convention highlights will be their Third Annual Bus Drivers' Dri-vers' Roadeo which features competition among drivers both in a written test (including (includ-ing safety and first-aid) and actual driving competition in a school bus. During this year's national competition in Portland, Ore., three Utah drivers placed among the top ten Jordan District's Jay Webb placed second, Ray Haws, Jordan, fourth and John Thayn, Granite, placed eighth. This is great news for Utah drivers who are entrusted with a most precious cargo our children. |
