Show Scouting Awards Presented At Day Camp Windup Radges and awards were announced at the closing ceremonies of Girl Scout Day Camp, held at Tack Creek Campground June 2 through 8. Each, camper left with new skil's and accomplishments, and an ice cream stick from camp leaders. Completing senior badges badg-es during the day camp were, for Outdoor Cook badge, Debbie Patfon and Shirley Nelson; for Gypsy, Gyp-sy, Lori McCurdy and Beverly Be-verly Shelton ; for Foot Traveler, Marilyn Sh'dton and Mandy Knowles; Backyard Back-yard Fun, Penny Martin and Deanna Gay; and Troop Camper, Shirley Kel son. Best Camper awaids, voted by the members of each unit for best sportsmanship, sports-manship, conservation ivil spirit, were: Unit 1, Faith Munden; Unit 2, Barbie Badger; Unit 3, Tricia Ad-kison Ad-kison ; Unit 4, Carol Cress-land; Cress-land; Unit 5, Valerie Mar-stcn. Mar-stcn. An Outstanding Service Award was presented to Teresa Posey, a senior scout who assisted at camp every ev-ery day. And in the contest con-test to build the longest chain of pop-top can lids. Winners were: Tami Milner, right first place; Nicky Zitnick, left, second place, and Faith Munden, third place. The first place hat was composed of a bleach bottle and a lamp shade, each skirted with gingham. |
