Show fine move by Frontier For two years now, Moab residents have been telling tell-ing frontier Airlines (and anyone else who would listen), that if they wanted increased boardings from this community, com-munity, they would have to initiate service which would allow local residents to fly to Salt Lake City or Denver in the morning, conduct several hours of business, and then fly back home the same day. That service has now been promised, to begin on July 1st. In addition, the new schedule will call for hoarding of Frontier Airlines crews in Moab overnight. The schedule calls for the evening flight to terminate here. The aircraft will be parked overnight at Canyon-lands Canyon-lands Field, and the crew boarded in town. Then they will originate the new flight from Canyonlands Field early the next morning. To the community commuters who used to enjoy the case of traveling offered by both Frontier and by Denver Den-ver & Rio Grande Railroad in getting back and forth to the city, this new schedule should be greeted with a good deal of enthusiasm. With the curtailed airline schedules of the past few years and the ending, for all practical purposes, of the railroad passenger service, Moab area residents were left with only one alternative alterna-tive a darn good automobile. We would be willing to predict that the new service ser-vice offered starting July 1 will more than justify Frontier's Fron-tier's interest in seeing if the area really needs commuter commut-er service. Persons with questions concerning the new schedule and how it might serve them, should not hesitate hes-itate to contact Frontier's Moab office for information. Local employees of the airline have proven that they are more interested than anyone else in seeing their own operation be a success. |
