Show Lions Show Proclaimed Traditional Success ! Winimr of first prize in the ; Lion's Club Talent Show lasl weekend was Marilyn Wyatt i ;:.nd Joanne Cox who played ! a piano duet, "Nola". Twenty-five dollars was awarded ; to them for their perform- a nee. ! In second place in the ' competition was a vocal with Kuitar "A Uou.se is not a Motel," by Sherry Gustaf-son. Gustaf-son. Winner of third place was a modern jazz dance by Jolyne Vancil and Lori Me-Kinnon. Me-Kinnon. The Order of the Arrow, dojiiig an Indian ciance and John Blanken-afjle, Blanken-afjle, doing a humorous reading, read-ing, both received honorable honor-able mention in the show. About 22 acts were on hand for the actual performances although over 30 had signed up. Beverly Spencer, chairman of the show, stated that the Lions are very much aware of the. ability of individuals aind groups and appreciated '. their participation, even ! though each one could not win a prize. It was through the efforts of each performer, perform-er, stated Spencer, that made the show a sellout each night. Proceeds from tihe taJent show will be used to further sight conservation efforts of the Lions. Each year they fiponsor the glaucoma clinic for youngsters as well as furnish glasses for those who cam not afford to buy them. This year, proceeds will go toward a cornea transplant for a local girl. Mr. Spencer slated that although total figures were not yet available, avail-able, it appeared that over $500 would be netted by the during this time of year. i group after expenses were I paid.
