Show GCHS Forensic Students Place Fourth in Regional Meet GCHS forsensic students placed tihiiixl in the regional speech moot held jn Moab last week. They were" judged in five catagories; debate, legislative legisla-tive forum, oratory, radio speaking, and extemporaneous extemporan-eous speaking. The winners in each catagorie are: in debate, tlu-ee of our teams received superior ratings and our third team received cxellan,t. Don Taylor and Peggy Tomsic took second place, Mike Taylor and Randy Ran-dy Sackerson are second alternates, al-ternates, and Sherry Oliver and Jim Dickerson are third alternates. Kevin Johnson and Rick Hirshfeld received excellent ratings. In legislative forum, Eric Nelson took fourth place, Wes Ferguson is the third alternate and Marc Pinker-ton Pinker-ton is the fifth alternate. In radio - speaking, Shirley Shir-ley Jones took second place find Liz Whitney placed third both with excellent ratings ar.d Don Williams received a good ratinjg. In oratory, Linda Dowd is the first alternate and Jhon-ru'e Jhon-ru'e Wilson is the second alternate. al-ternate. In extemporaneous speaking, speak-ing, Doug Zufelt won second place, Lynn Brechtel won third place and John Snow is the second alternate. Notre Dame took first with 61 points, East Carbon took second with 56 points and Moab taking tilui-d with 55 joints. These students now have one week to prepare for the upcoming drama meet to be held in Notre Dame, March 24. |
