Neither one of the boys had been to Chicago before and Boyd called his Mom, Betty Jeffries, and said they were both having quite a time. Over last weekend sometime some-time someone went up the canyon and took white paint and painted over some of our petroglyphs (Indian writings). All of the people of Thompson are more than up set over such actions. To add to the insult and injury, the unkind person or persons also took a large rock and smashed and broke our water line. Our Indian writings were left for our generation and generations to follow to enjoy not destroy. As for our water line it cost money and man power for our small town to replace. If someone wishes to be destructive let them destroy their own property pro-perty not that of others. If you feel you must destroy something, some-thing, go throw rocks at your own car or break the windows out of your own house but leave other peoples things alone. Homer Davis gavea Bar-B-Q in Green River for about 30 friends Sunday. In attendance from Thompson were George and Sadie Dutos and Art Thompson. After the Bar-B-Q many of the people came to Thompson to enjoy more party. Enjoying the festivities and staying with George and Sadie Dutos for a few days was a long time ago resident of Thompson. Carol and Reed Lee who now reside in Colville, Washington lived in Thompson 18 years ago. Carol cooked for George at the cafe and Reed drove a truck for Hatcho. On this trip they have visited friends and relatives from their home in Washington Washing-ton down through California on to Florida and are on their way back home now. Have a nice trip home to the Lee's. March came in like a lion and if it keeps up the next two days will go out that way too. I don't think anyone can find a lamb in the weather we have been having. April is supposed to bring what this year? We will soon see. Our little town loses its population and then turns around and gains it back with interest. A few weeks ago Eugene and Pat Addley and three children moved to town. Eugene is working at the mine up the canyon and Pat is working for Russell and Lorene Busick in their cafe. This past Saturday we lost Jack Miller who moved to California. This week Robert True is moving back to Thompson from Wyoming. Robert lived here his last two years in school with Jess and Betty Jeffries.
