Show Diamond- Track Teams View Action Region Seven baseball starts this week with Moab hosting North Sanpete at 3:00 p.m. Thursday. This season should delight the baseball fans because the Red Devils will have a slate of eight Region games, plus several non-league contests. The young Red Devils already have three games under their belts and a 2-1 record. Little is known about the caliber .of play in the new alignment of teams, but some of the schools have solid records in other sports and are sure to field good squads. The unknown factor involves several sever-al schools that are starting or resuming baseball. Moab wil! likely have Marlyn Wyatt and Tommy Pruitt on the mound for the first league game. Behind them will be a variety of lineups as coach Glen Riche-son Riche-son has been changing players rapidly in the pre-season. Tracksters head for Grand Junction Saturday for the annual Mesa College Invitational. Invita-tional. Moab is a five-time champion in the big meet, but the Red Devils don't appear to be a contender this year. A meager turnout and injuries have reduced the squad to a few hard working thinclads. |
