Connie graduated from Weber High School and is now attending Weber State College. She received the titles of Miss Rodeo Ogden 1974 and Miss Rodeo Utah priori to being crowned Miss Rodeo America 1975 in Oklahoma City at the Cowboy Hall of Fame. I Grand High Rodeo Club Schedules Big Event Hereon April 9-10 The first state sanctioned high school rodeo of the year will be hosted by Grand County High School Rodeo Club on April 9 and 10. Performances will begin each afternoon at 2 at the Moab Arena. Admission is $1 for students, $1.50 for adults and $2 for reserved seats. .. Members of the high school rodeo clubs throughout Utah are eligible for competition. Following the drawing March 29, contestants for most events are known: bareback bronc riding, 20 participants; saddle bronc riding, 10; team roping, 8 teams; pole bending, 26; cloverleaf j barrel racing,,26;,. goat tyTngi 26; bull riding," 30;" and there are 6 queen contestants. Calf tie down roping and break away roping are also on the list of events. Queen competition will be held on two days. Friday at 9 a.m. a tea will be held to observe the personality of each candidate. Saturday morning at 9 the girls will compete in the horsemanship division. The contest is open to girls throughout the state and the winner will reign' over this rodeo only, but will qualify to go to the state finals. The first, second and third place winners in all events will also qualify to go to state finals in the same event. Prizes will be awarded in each event; first, a belt buckle with the emblem of the event; second, a garment bag with "Rodeo, America's No. 1 Sport" lettered on it; and third, a mirror with a rodeo symbol on it. For the all-around winners, the boy will receive a roping saddle s- and the girl will receive a show saddle. K A dance will follow the f rodeo on Saturday at 7 p.m. at 5 the high school. Dancing to the y, music of Stillwater will contin- 6 ue until 11:30 p.m. The public 6 is invited to join in all the fun 6 at the rodeo and at the dance.
