" ij 3 I jf "J1 ' ' " I r - ' '.w- - This new flag pole, to carry four flags, will fly over St. Christopher's M.-ssion in Bluff during the big show planned for next week. The public is invited. Big Indian Works Show Set At St. Christopher's in Bluff St. Christopher's Mission ' in Bluff on July 25 and 26 will be host for the Southwest South-west Regional Conference of the National Committee on Indian Works of the Episcopal Episco-pal Church. The Conference will be held, together with a festive celebration marking the beginning be-ginning of the 30th year of work for the Mission. Father Liebler, the founder of St. Christopher's Mission, along with Fr. Wayne, the present Vicar and staff, hopes that many people will come and share in the many activities. The celebration Eucharist for July 25 will be led by The ' Rt. Rev. Edgar Otis Charles, Bishop of the Diocese of Utah. In connection with the Conference Con-ference and as part of the celebration on July 25, the 4th Annual . Arts and Crafts Contest will be held at St. Chrisopher's Mission. There will be approximately $1000 in cash prize awards. Contests Con-tests will be held for weaving, weav-ing, silver & turquoise, painting, pain-ting, leather work, baskets, beads, and the most unusual entry. Second and third prizes priz-es in all these categories will also be awarded. All entries must be personal work and must be brought to the St. Christopher's Shop no later than 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, to be accepted for the judging on July 24. Judges have been chosen from all over Navajo Land. Prizes -will be awarded on July 25 between 7 and 9 p.m. It is at this time that the Mission will sponsor a Navajo meal of fry bread and mutton stew, to be served to everyone. every-one. As part of the greeting to the people who will be coming com-ing from all over the South- . west, the Mission has erected erect-ed a new native flag pole. This, along with a new bell will be dedicated on July 21. The flags that will be Gown are, the American Flag, the Episcopal Flag, the Utah State Flag and the Flag of the Navajo Tribe. |
