Show Richard Fike Is New BLM Archeologist Mr. Richard E. Fike recently re-cently reported for duty at the Bureau of Land Management Mana-gement district office in Monticello. According to District Man. ager Frank C. Shields, Mr. Fike will be the Archeologist Archeolo-gist for the BLM in the State of Utah. He will spend about half his time in the Monticello district and tho other half in the rest of the state. Richard received a degree in anthropology from the University of Arizona in 1963. He has worked for several museums and research institutions in-stitutions in the western United States and Mexico. Mr. Fike feels the archeol-books archeol-books dealing with the hobby hob-by of collecting antique bottles. bot-tles. Collecting antiques and restoring antique cars is his hobby. Richard and his wife Laura, are residing at 7fl Uranium Drive in Monticello. . Mr. Fke feels the archeology archeol-ogy of the San Juan and Southeastern Utah,, is one of the wealthiest areas in the United, States. He Solicits Vhe public work in cooperation with the Bureau of Land Management in preserving the wealth of information that can be gained from sci-entifc sci-entifc research in this area. In this way these resources will not be lost through abuse. |
