Show Grand High Teachers Meet In Convention Members of the Utah Education Ed-ucation Association will met in Salt Lake City this weekend week-end for their annual Convention. Conven-tion. School in Grand county will be dismissed Thursday and Friday to enable all district dis-trict educators to attend. Val Maughn, high school teacher, is the local president of the Grand Education Association and heads the locally sponsored spon-sored activities. Various departments of education ed-ucation will hold separate meetings to enable each area of education in the stale to be evaluated and also to present pre-sent noted personalities for keynote speeches throughout the three days. These meetings will be held in conjunction with general gen-eral sessions at which approximately ap-proximately 13,000 teachers will meet together. This group will also hear the all-state- chorus and all-state band, groups which are made up of students from all high schools in the state. Voting for next year's UEA officers will be held on Friday. Those elected will take the reins for the 70 school year. Exhibits of all types will be located at each department depart-ment meeting, and also at the convention center. Th? latest in educational facilities facili-ties and equipment will be demonstrated by various firms around the Intermoun-tain Intermoun-tain region. Ninety-eight teachers and administrators from the Moab Mo-ab area belong to the state organization and will.be attending at-tending the convention. |
