Efficient Office Staff at High School Results in Good Operation Business at G.C.H.S. is kept running smoothly by an efficient office staff. This year students have welcomed welcom-ed two new office personnel at the high school Mrs". Jeanette Mikesell and Mrs: Palma Jacobs. Six years of secretarial work at Grand County Junior High School have more than prepared Mrs. Mikesell for her job at the high school-a school-a job which entails everything every-thing from answering the. . phone to listening to a students stu-dents explanation as to why he was forty-five minutes late to his second period class from a first period class directly across the hall. Mrs. Mikesell, whoe motto is "to get along with everybody", every-body", has lived in Moab for eight years and is the wife of Carl Mikesell. Mr. Mikesell Mike-sell is the Seasonal Ranger at the Arches National Monument. Mon-ument. Carol Jean, Mrs. Mikesell's daughter, is a junior jun-ior at the University of San Diego this year, where she is majoring in Chemistry. Even after all her experiences experi-ences with students Mrs. Mikesell still insists that she has no favorite particular type of student. She also stated, "All of the students have always been very cooperative co-operative and respectful." Mrs. Palma Jacobs, for the first time this year, has taken tak-en over bookkeeping and accounting ac-counting responsibilities at G.C.H.S. It is through this woman that all high school and Junior high school funds must pass. Accurate expenditures expen-ditures and incomes are an everyday part of Mrs. Jacob's Ja-cob's job. Mrs. Jacobs is the wife of Harold Jacobs, City Councilman, Council-man, Rotarian, Chamber of Commerce member and chairman of the Grand County Coun-ty Safety Commissions. At the same time however, Mrs. Jacobs is also active in civic affairs serving this year as President of Moab's Woman's Literary Club. Palma Pal-ma was the Jobs Daughters secretary for two years before be-fore becoming a guardian in the organization and is presently pres-ently Secretary-Treasurer of the Grand County Jeep Posse Auxiliary. The Jacobs and their son Brent, who is a Senior ?t G. C.H.S., have lived in EJoaK fort he past 10 Vfc years having hav-ing previously lived in O-maha, O-maha, Nebraska and Salt Lake City. Mrs. Mikesell and Mrs. Jacobs are indeed assets in the proper functioning of the educational system in Moi) and although often not voiced, voic-ed, many thanks go out to them from the students at G. C.H.S. for their assistance and guidance. |
