Show THREATEN TO FLOOD MINES OF ALASKA JUNEAU, Alaska, April 2. On the request of the Treadwell company and the recommendation of the United States Marshal, acting Governor Wi L. Dustin called lor troops, and fifty-four men and two officers of company F, Tenth infantry, stationed at Fort Seward, Sew-ard, arrived today on the transport Peterson. They are quartered at the Treadwell club. A parade took place on Sunday in which 60 union miners were in line. No " demonstration was - made, but threats to blow up the Penstock and flood the mines were made. Five soldiers sol-diers are now on guard and only a few men are working at the pumps. |
