Show INSPECTOR THOMAS HANDS IN RESIGNATION On account of the Legislature appropriating appro-priating only $500 for expenses for tho years 1907 and 1908, which is declared to be far inadequato for the office, Oomer Thomas, State coal mine inspector, inspec-tor, has handed in his resignation. The letter of resignation was handed to Gov. Cutler .yesterday. The letter reads as follows: "My Dear Sir: I hereby offer my resignation as State coal mine inspector inspec-tor for the State of Utah, to take effect April CO. 1907. rf!:e Lejsiature which recently ad-ionrm-'l pprcpriated for the two years, 1W7-8, but $500 to defray tho actual and DocesK.'iry traveling expenses of the State coal nunc inspector while making his official vis'ts to the various coal and hy'ro-carbon mines of the State, and lor the purchase of instruments, stationery, etc., necessary to tho proper prop-er Uiscbi'.'gfl of the duties of the of-ire. of-ire. ,"lho previous Legislature appropriated appropri-ated for the purpose named the sura of $1000, which, owing to the great development de-velopment the mining, industry of the Strtt. proved inadequate to defray the expenses of the last biennial period, and to r?duce this amount to one-half would make it impossible to discharge the duties cf the office with any degree- of tntisfaction.
