Show BAD MONEY MEN DENIED NEW TRIAL BY JUDGE DIEHL The motion for a new trial in the case of the State against George Wilson Wil-son andJ. Morgan was overruled by Judge Diehl this morning. Counsel for J the defendants gave notice of an appeal ap-peal to the District court and bail was fixed at $200 in each case. Wilson and Morgan were arrested on March 7 on a complaint charging them with obtaining money under false pretenses, pre-tenses, it being alleged that they had passed a, $10 note of the defunct Merchants Mer-chants and Planters' bank of Savannah, Savan-nah, Ga., on Miss-Hattie White, 62 West Fourth South street. The men demanded a jury trial and were found guilty about ten days ago. , Attorney Wooten, representing the defendants, moved for a new trial ' which was denied by Judge Diehl this morning. |
