Show STARTS GRAPHOPHONE TO PLAYING AS SHE SWALLOWS POISON LOUISVILLE. Ky., April 22. A fjw minutes after she had placed a record with "Home, Sweet Home," upon It Inn graphophone. Emma Davis, residing at 421 Eleventh street, died, seated In an arm chair, aa the last strains died away. Her death was caused by morphine poisoning, the drug. It is believed, having been taken with suicidal Intent. The Davis woman was found lying unconscious un-conscious in the chair by other occupants of the place, and doctors were summoned sum-moned to aid her, but nothing could be done to save her life. l The room that the woman occupied was In the first building of what is known as "Suicide Row." A long list of suicides sui-cides is registered against the row of flats In the same block, and In this same vicinity Clarence Sturgeon, now under sentence of death, killed three persons last year. i So far as Is known the woman had no relatives. Despondency Is said to have been the cause of her act. |
