Stewart, : the nine-year-old son of Dr. and Mrs. William Durrant, died at the home of his I parents in this city Saturday night as the result of a railroad accident. A num. I ber of the boys of tills place have been In the habit of catching onto freight trains as they left the city, riding a short distance and then Jumping off. Sat-; Sat-; urday afternoon the little fellow attempt-! attempt-! ed to board the rear car of a freight train, and in some way he missed his footing and fell under the car. The ear passed over one of his legs near the thigh and the other leg near mo foot. The boy was carried to a r.er.rby house and medical medi-cal assistance summoned, but the shock and loss of blood were loo much and he died in a few hours. |
