Show GOULD TO TESTIFY IN RAILROAD INQUIRY NEW TORK. Feb. 27. It Is said' that George J. Gould will be a witness before the Interstate Commerce commission, but counsel for the commission would not say yesterday when they expected to call Mr. Gould. Harriman'a attack on Btuyvesant Fish, who waa ousted recently from the presidency presi-dency of the Illinois Central railroad, was a striking feature of the testimony yes-terday. yes-terday. Stuyvesant Fish has as yet made no statement In reply, and It is considered con-sidered possible that if he does make one he will make It on the witness stand before be-fore the commission. One of Fish's friends said that the reason, doubtless, that he did not make an immediate reply was that he desired first to see a verbatim ver-batim report of the testimony. Harrlman, In the course of his testimony testi-mony yesterday, said that if the Union Pacific had gained control of the Northern North-ern Paclflf at the time it attempted to do so. Northern Pacific would now be ten years ahead of where It Is. James J. Hill laughed when his attention atten-tion was called to this statement, and said: "Mr. Harrlman's got control of time, too, has her" |
