Some congreasmen said it had accomplished much; others aaid they might have better stayed home and built political fences. Ore.), minority mi-nority leader, said results had borne out earlier predictions nothing noth-ing concrete would be accomplished. accom-plished. Senator Pope (R., Idaho), coauthor co-author of the farm bill, contradicted contra-dicted him with the assertion the aeaaion had been "distinctly worth while" because it hsd given the country a farm program for IMS. Pope's colleague, Senator Borah (R. Idaho), remarked that the "leas said the better" about the achievements of the session, but added that congress should always al-ways meet in December to "get preliminaries out of the way." |
