Bob Newman, chairman of the Salt Lake Elks club safety committee, said the matter would be taken up at a committee meeting meet-ing Wednesday night and that he would ask the group to Investigate disposition of meter money. On Monday the Women's Safety Council of Salt Lake City authorized author-ized a similar investigation. "As chairman of the Elks safety committee, I will ask thst group to investigate the disposition of parking meter revenue," said Mr. Newman, who also Is a member of the executive committee of the Utah traffic safety council. The 1940 public safety budget totals $785,000, including $75,000 from parking meters labeled for "traffic ssfety." The 1939 budget wss $780,000. |
