Show Jelesnik Concert Rates High Applause A polished group of 30 radio musicians mu-sicians and four guest soloists, directed di-rected by Eugene Jelesnik, presented pre-sented a full program of music from well-known composers Friday Fri-day evening to. a capacity audience audi-ence in the LOS assembly halL It waa a good program for a good cause the concert was spon-sored spon-sored by the International Foot- prtnt Ami, Bait Lake chapter, for the benefit of polio. It was made possible through the American Federation of Musicians, and was given free to the public. A check from th Footprinters was presented at the concert to the Utah state chairman of National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis by Gov. J. Bracken Le. All musical selections were enthusiastically en-thusiastically received by the audience. audi-ence. Specially enjoyed wer "Th Glow Worm," a medley from the stage success, "South Pacific," by Rogers and Hammerstein, and Strauss' "Blue Danube Waits." The guest artists completed th musical treat. They wer Charles Walker, Minnesota, baritone; Mar-gel Mar-gel Ayars, soprano, formerly of Spokane, Wash.; Larry Pryor, pianist, and Samuel Pratt, flutist. Jelesnik should be commended for a well-chosen program beautifully beauti-fully done. His own composition, "Nadocky Polka," gave him added fame. |
