Show S. L Red Feather Drive Passes Half-way Point Wearers of the Red Feather of the Salt Lake county Community Cheat Saturday crossed the 50-yard line in a touchdown drive to contribute con-tribute 1318.000 to 21 charitable and character-building agencies in the Bait Laks area. Pledges and donations totaling 1164.675. or 62 of the 1949 quota, were reported Saturday by C. E. Freeman, general chairman of the Red Feather appeal. The largest contributions reported report-ed for any single day Friday swelled the total at the third general gen-eral report meeting of workera. Community Chest leaders are optimistic that the quota will be reached by Nov. 4. when the drive is scheduled to dose. H. C. Shoemaker, chairman of the pay roll division, said delayed reports from large business firms will come in early next week. The next general report from volunteer workera will be Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Red Feather building, build-ing, 112 S. 8tate. More than 75 of the 1949 drive goal is expected to be pledged by Tuesday, he said. The general chairman said ha will send the 6000 volunteer workers work-ers "back Into the field" after Tuesday's meeting and ask them to continue canvassing so that the drive can be ended according to schedule.. |
