Show PIGS TAKE WING IN AUTO CRASH Eight little piggies went to market but they didn't get there. Not without a delay en route, that Is, during which they squealed and grunted about the intersection of 14th South and State sts., and some of them suffered painful wounds. The pigs, Chester Whites weighing about 300 pounds each, were in a truck driven by Earl M. Bevey, 51, Alpine, Utah coimty. At 12:25 p.m. Mr. Bevey'a truck skidded out of control st 1415 S. State, aideswiped an 'auto driven south in the opposite lane of traffic by Wesley Land-vatter, Land-vatter, 29, Glendale, Ariz., and then atopped a second vehicle driven by George H. Franz, 61, 2368 Lake st The Franz auto hit the truck head on. One pig sailed through the air and landed amack on the automobile hood, where it aat stunned for several minutea before be-fore struggling to the ground. Several others were injured, but moat of them had enough life to require considerable attention at-tention before, they were corralled cor-ralled at the rear of a cleaning establishment Mr. Franz was taken to Salt Lake general hospital with a leg injury. Mr. Bevey waa cited for driving too fast for existing conditions. |
