Show Post Office Aids Gel Holiday Ray of For spending many busy hours sorting and delivering Christmas mail while others mad holiday plana. 516 Christmas rush employes em-ployes of the Salt Laka City post office received a commendation from postal officials and checks for the period amounting to 131,000. The belated "gifts" were distributed distrib-uted by Charles H. Carr, assistant superintendent of malls, to extra carriers, clerks and special delivery deliv-ery men, In the form of pay checks and travel allowances. A record volume of mail was handled during the yuletide season, and many employes worked all day Christmas to complete deliveries so that the occasion would be complete com-plete for Salt Lakers. Assistant Postmaster Robert J. Twiggs praised the efficiency of regular employes and temporary helpers. |
