Show PROPOSITION TO CONSOLIDATE. Some of the Eastern dispatches indicate indi-cate that there la a proposition on .for the consolidation of the Boston Consolidated Consoli-dated and Utah Copper properties again, and this time the shares of each company are to go in on the same basis, which is to be at the par value of S40 per share. When seen this morning Mr. Newhouse. who is at the head of the Boston Consolidated properties, and fwho waa responsible for the refusal on the part of his company to enter into the consolidation proposed by the Guggenheim Gug-genheim Interests some time ago,, said thfit he had no knowledge of any such deal being considered. He acknowledged acknowl-edged that It was possible that the Eastern Interests may have been approached ap-proached by the Guggenheims on a new consolidation scheme, but he had absolutely no information on this point. Mr. Newhouse thought that the improvement im-provement In price in the Boston Con-' solldated stocks was probably due to the great Improvement In physical conditions con-ditions underground, and this may have had something to do with the revival of the talk of consolidation of the two properties, which may bepurely a conjecture con-jecture on the part of some of the mar-: ket manipulators, who are trying to ascertain as-certain some reason for the advance In the market price of these copper stocks. |
