Show ALUMNI BANQUET Of UNIVERSITY A SUCCESS - - The largest attended alumni banquet and reception In the history of the Uni-verslty-of Utah was held last evening aj the Mdseum building. Over 300 guests sat down to the banquet table. While the menu was being en-Joyed en-Joyed delightful music was furnished by a string band. Following the banquet came the toasts, Mrs. Alice M. Home acting as toastmas-ter. toastmas-ter. The following toasts were responded to: "The Boy," by Mrs. Elizabeth Stevenson Ste-venson Wilcox, who was a member of the class with Dr. Kingsbury and ex-Senator ex-Senator Rawlins, was one of the most Interesting In-teresting responses of the evening. Elbert El-bert Thomas, one of the younger graduates, gradu-ates, also made a hit In his toast to "The Engineers." and the tribute to "The Faculty," by Waldemar Van Cott. was beautiful. Miss Valentina Murphy responded to "The Little Father " the Janitor who watches over the University students with such thoughtful rare; John M. Young paid his respects in charming manner to "The Girls," and M. T. Porter Por-ter to "The Regents." |
