Show Friends Honor Mother At Open House Approximately 2 0 0 relatives and friends called on Mrs. Eva Crandall Sunday, during an open house reception given by her children chil-dren to celebrate her seventieth birthday. The birthday party climaxed a three-day reunion of the family with all members including approximately ap-proximately 30 descendents being here for the occasion. On Friday, they assembled at a family dinner and the group spent Saturday in Salt Lake City at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crandall. Cran-dall. Sunday morning, they attended at-tended Sunday School and in the afternoon held open house. For the latter event, the dining table, from fhich refreshments were served, was covered by a gorgeous gor-geous crocheted cloth over pink satin, the work of the guest of honor. The table was centered with a beautiful bouquet of pink rosebuds and blue delphenium with tall, pink tapers in crystal holders on either end. A granddaughter, Miss Virginia Crandall, poured during the afternoon after-noon and five little granddaughters, granddaugh-ters, Mary, Evelyn and Ann Crandall Cran-dall and Lucille and Anetta Warner, War-ner, served. The guests were greeted by the eldest son, Maeser Crandall, and Carl Crandall acted as master of ceremonies. An interesting program was given during the afternoon, including includ-ing vocal solos by Mrs. Ellen Crandall; violin and piano selections selec-tions by Gordon and Douglas Childs; readings, Mrs. Marie C. Miller of Glendale, Calif.; piano selections, Norma Liechty; piano numbers, Morgan Thomas. |
