It will be held at :0U a.m. in the fish and game offices, ouo Atlas Building. The meetings are held annually to draw information pertaining to Utah's range problems and big game herds. The information gathered is the iniormauon used to base the season's hunts on as they pertain to hornless deer and elk, Mr. Leonard said. Information has been passed to all interested parties many months ago, so that sportsmen could prepare pre-pare any data, or make any surveys sur-veys they may wish to prepare to present to the Board, along with the usual deer count surveys of the Forest Service and the cattle and sheep interests. "We sincerely hope that all j hunters take these meetings I seriously this year," the game chief said. "In the past, the representation re-presentation of the sportsmen has been poor, and only the one side of the picture has been fairly presented. After the Board prescribes pre-scribes the dates and the numbers to be taken, there is a great "kick-back" on the part of the sportsmen who then realize that it was their responsibility to participate par-ticipate in the meetings. The meetings will also give the sportsmen a better understanding of the mutual problems concerning Utah's range use, Leonard said. Members of the Board of Big Game Control are Mr. Leonard, L. C. Montgomery, president of the Utah Cattle and Horsegrowers Association; Don Clyde, president of the Utah Woolgrowers Association; Associa-tion; Ed Cliff, representing the Regional Forest Service Offices in Ogden, and Henry Weight, 01 Springville, Utah Wildlife Federation. |
