The purpose of the week is set forth clearly in the Governor's -proclamation: "Utah has been endowed with ,nectacular scenic wonders and a ' fascinating historic background. nut of the myriad wonders of na-in na-in utah' the federal govern-:rment govern-:rment has established two national na-tional parks and nine national tSst-monuments. The Western Natural Gas company com-pany brought in a natural gas well that is producing 25,000,000 cubic feet daily. The vwell is, located about 40 miles south of Monticello in San Juan county in the four corner section of Utah. The gas will be connected to Needles, California. Cali-fornia. Because of the success of the well, additional wells will be driven, probably some in each of the four states that make up the "Four Corner" section. Rivaling the redwoods of California Cali-fornia and probably living long before Columbus discovered America, is a giant scrub oak tree, rediscovered by Lee Kay of the Utah fish and game commission. The tree is located in a remote section of southern Utah near the headwaters of Deep Creek, west of Navajo,lake. The tree is probably prob-ably the largest scrub oak tree in the world.
