Show Round-n -About Town . . Mrs. Hyrum Meyrick returned Tuesday from Mt. Pleasant, where she spent a week with relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Shirl Poulson were host and hostess to a group of friends at a dinner party at their home Saturday evening. Pretty Valentine motifs were employed in table decorations and place cards, and the game "rook" was the feature fea-ture of entertainment. Prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wheeler of Provo. During the evening, also, the group made a number of recordings record-ings of songs, readings and other numbers. Dinner was served early at small tables to the following follow-ing guests: Hyrum Meyrick, Mr. and Mrs. Walt Wheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Bird, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Gogarty, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Porter. Mrs. Ellen Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Mau-rice Metcalf and the host and hos- ' tess. Springville will be well represented repre-sented at the state Distinguished j Service Award banquet at the Newhouse hotel,. Salt Lake City, Saturday evening, with eight members of the local Jaycee club 1 and their wives planning to attend. There will be President and Mrs. Ray Klauck, Mr. and Mrs. Payne Laney, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ostlund, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Haslam, Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Mortensen, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Parker, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Thorn. I Mrs. Woodrow Fillmore and two sons, David and Floyd, of Tooele, spent four days of the past week with Mrs. Fillmore's mother, Mrs. Mae Huntington. Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Crandall have returned from a short business busi-ness trip to San Diego, Calif. They also spent some time at Tiajuana, Mexico. i |
