Show Danger of Breaking Globes Explained The danger of breaking fluorescent fluores-cent light globes was brought to the attention of citizens this week, when it was noted that some business busi-ness men and home owners were discarding the globes in places where youngsters might break them. The gas substance contained in the globes is deadly poison if inhaled in-haled directly, and if inhaled at some distance is dangerous enough to cause ilness, it is reported. It is, therefore, the responsibility of everyone who discards burned-out fluorescent globes to see that they are destroyed or placed where youngsters might not break them. It is safe, however, to break the burned-out globes under water, as this method destroys the gas fumes, it was reported. |
