Show Formal Vote Set April 26 On Hobble Creek Fence Although a majority of taxpayers taxpay-ers -signed petitions recently favoring fav-oring the fencing of Hobble Creek as a safety measure, city officials have decided that a formal voting on the proposal should now be held and April 26 has been set for voting the same day citizens will vote on the $400,000 water and power bonds. The fencing of the creek will cost approximately approxi-mately '$15,000. The voting is being held because some citizens, while they did not favor the project or were not interested in-terested in it, felt that they could not refuse to sign the petition when the ladies called. So these people will now be given a chance to vote secretly for or against the project. Also there are some home owners own-ers bordering the creek at Brook-side Brook-side who have refused to have the fence placed on the creek bank. If a majority of taxpayers in the city vote in favor of the project, pro-ject, legal action will be taken in such cases, it is pointed out. In taking these and other details de-tails of the proposal into consideration, consid-eration, it is now deemed necessary to vote formally. However, city officials pointed out, the work of the club ladies was not in vain as it did point to the fact that a majority of taxpayer contacted, signed petitions peti-tions in favor of the safety measure. |
